April 14, 2025

Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) MBA Centre successfully organized the XMUM MBA Networking Day 17.0 – Visit to Agroz Edu Farm on 1 March 2025. The event provided an engaging and educational experience for MBA students, alumni, and lecturers, allowing them to gain valuable insights into the latest agricultural technology while fostering networking opportunities. The visit took place at Agroz Edu Farm, located at AEON Mall Wangsa Maju (Alpha Angle), Kuala Lumpur.

An Interactive Learning Experience

The event’s primary objective was to offer participants a practical learning experience regarding Agroz Edu Farm’s innovative business operations and technological advancements. As an agri-tech company specializing in vertical farming, Agroz Edu Farm provides global hardware, software, and management services to customers in Qatar, Oman, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The visit also aimed to explore potential internship opportunities for MBA students at the company.

Event Highlights

The day commenced with a briefing session conducted by Mr. Tham Keng Yew, who introduced participants to the various aspects of Agroz Edu Farm’s agri-technology. Following the briefing, participants had the chance to engage in a Q&A session to further understand the company’s operations and future potential.

The event was structured into two sessions. During both sessions, attendees were treated to hands-on experiences, including seeding demonstrations, transplanting demonstrations, and harvesting activities. The farm staff guided the sessions, providing invaluable insights into the various processes of vertical farming. Each session concluded with a farm visit and a photo session to capture the memorable experience.

Participants were particularly excited about the opportunity to harvest fresh Agroz vegetables and take them home, courtesy of the Agroz Edu Farm team. The engaging “Packaging Party” was another highlight of the day.

Educational and Networking Benefits

This visit not only offered a rare opportunity for students and lecturers to learn directly from an innovative agri-tech company but also served as a platform for networking among MBA students, alumni, and industry professionals. By fostering interactions and knowledge exchange, the event contributed positively to the participants’ professional growth and understanding of sustainable farming practices.

Positive Feedback and Future Collaboration

Participants expressed enthusiasm about the event’s success and the knowledge they gained from the visit. XMUM MBA Centre looks forward to continued collaboration with Agroz Edu Farm to provide more enriching experiences for its students in the future.
